Batista — The Animal

David Michael Bautista Jr. from Washington D.C. came to WWE late — he did not debut until his 33rd year. He made up for lost time. Evolution put him alongside Triple H, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton in what became the most dominant faction of the 2000s. When Batista finally broke out on his own he won the World Heavyweight Championship and became one of SmackDown's biggest stars ever. Then he walked away and became Drax the Destroyer — and somehow, the second act was even bigger than the first.

2002–2005
Evolution — Learning from the Best
Recruited by Triple H as the enforcer of Evolution alongside Ric Flair and Randy Orton, Batista was the muscle of the greatest faction of his generation. The apprenticeship was intentional and productive — by the time he broke out from under Triple H's shadow, he had learned every element of the craft at the highest possible level.
2005–2010
World Heavyweight Champion
WrestleMania 21 against Triple H. Batista wins the World Heavyweight Championship and SmackDown has its new franchise player. Six total world championship reigns across Raw and SmackDown. WrestleMania main events against The Undertaker and Chris Jericho. The Animal at his absolute peak.
2014–2019
Hollywood and the Final Return
Guardians of the Galaxy made Dave Bautista a household name far beyond wrestling. His portrayal of Drax the Destroyer across the MCU showed genuine acting range. His final WWE appearance — a retirement match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in 2019 — was a full-circle goodbye to the business that made him.

Evolution — A Dynasty

Evolution — Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista — was WWE's most dominant faction of the 2000s. The group held virtually every championship simultaneously at peak power. Triple H as the cerebral manipulator, Flair as the veteran mentor, Orton as the young legend killer, and Batista as the unstoppable enforcer — four distinct personalities forming the perfect unit. Their stable produced three future Hall of Famers who would all hold world championships independently.
