WWE Security Breach Fails to Dampen London Go-Home Show
LONDON — WWE is dealing with a major pre-show headache after the entire Night of Champions go-home episode of SmackDown leaked online hours before its broadcast. Despite the backstage fury over the leak, the taped show at the O2 Arena delivered a fast-paced build for tomorrow's premium live event. The red-hot London crowd provided a loud backdrop for a night defined by crumbling alliances and physical confrontations.
As PWInsider reported, the locker room was frustrated by the pre-broadcast leak. However, the stars on screen kept their focus on the immediate tasks at hand. All eyes are now on London as WWE prepares for its big weekend event.
The Bloodline Splinters Beyond Repair
Tonga Brothers Walk Out on Solo Sikoa
The Bloodline is officially in ruins, and Solo Sikoa is left holding the ashes. In a tense backstage confrontation, Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga told Sikoa they are done being dragged into his personal war. Tama pointed out that their obsession with Roman Reigns has cost them gold and respect.
Sikoa tried to assert his authority, barking that nobody leaves him. The brothers ignored the threat, walking away to leave Sikoa completely isolated backstage. Sikoa's empire has crumbled in a matter of weeks, leaving him vulnerable at the worst possible time.
LA Knight Rejects a Desperate Alliance
Looking for backup, Solo Sikoa met LA Knight in the ring to propose a truce. Knight was quick to mock the situation, noting that Sikoa was now completely vulnerable.
"His heart doesn’t pump purple piss for you losing your family."
Sikoa claimed he hates Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, and the Usos, suggesting they work together. Knight rejected the offer outright, leaving Sikoa to face his enemies alone. The situation grew even more dire for Sikoa later in the evening when Royce Keys warned Sikoa backstage that Jacob Fatu is actively coming for him.
Championship Action and Verbal Warfare
Rey Fenix Retains in a High-Flying Classic
The absolute highlight of the wrestling card was the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship match. Rey Fenix defended his title against Nathan Frazer in a bout that went over 10 minutes of breathtaking action. Both men traded near-falls and high-impact moves to keep the O2 Arena crowd on its feet.
The match began with quick leg sweeps and covers before Fenix hit a springboard crossbody to the floor. Frazer countered with a dragon whip and a springboard TKO, keeping the pace blistering.
The turning point came when Frazer missed a spectacular dive to the outside, crashing hard into the announce table. Fenix quickly capitalized, bringing Frazer back inside for a frog splash before hitting the Muscle Buster. The champion secured the pinfall, and both men embraced in a show of mutual respect after the bell.
Trick Williams Celebrates a Marriage Amid Chaos
Trick Williams opened the show alongside Lil Yachty to celebrate his recent marriage to Lash Legend. The joyous mood did not last long as Ricky Saints interrupted the segment. Saints mocked Williams' life choices and targeted his upcoming United States Championship defense.
Saints specifically mocked the cheap pops Williams got by mentioning London Bridge. Williams shot back, warning Saints to worry about who his dentist is once his teeth get kicked down his throat.
When Yachty chimed in, Saints punched the musician and attacked Williams from behind with a microphone. Backstage, Williams and Yachty were furious, promising that Saints has walked into a very tricky situation. Their match tomorrow has suddenly become deeply personal.
Divisional Chaos and Go-Home Missteps
Women's Division Explodes Ahead of Night of Champions
The women's tag team match saw Tiffany Stratton and Alexa Bliss team up to face B-Fab and Michin. The match was a chaotic affair, ending when Jade Cargill interfered to trip Stratton on the ropes. B-Fab capitalized with a neckbreaker into an X-Factor to secure the three count.
Chelsea Green made a surprise save after the match, clearing the ring with a kendo stick. Green's momentum was short-lived, however, as she lost a singles match to Cargill later in the night. The post-match brawl saw Cargill lay out Stratton with a devastating Jaded slam.
Earlier on the card, Paige faced Jacy Jayne in a singles match that suffered from pacing issues. Paige secured the victory with a quick rollup after a chaotic series of outside distractions involving Fallon, Reid, and Brie. The win builds Paige's momentum but the match was marred by clunky execution.
Pacing Issues Hurt a Busy Card
While the wrestling was high-caliber in spots, the show suffered from questionable booking decisions. The comedy segment in Danhausen's lab featuring Matt Cardona, the Miz, and Kit Wilson felt completely out of place on a go-home show. Having Cardona and Danhausen defeat Garza and Carrillo via a pyro distraction detracted from the serious tone of the night.
The segment began when Danhausen introduced Miz and Wilson, only for Garza and Carrillo to demand their money. Nick Aldis quickly booked a tag match, leading to Cardona hitting the Woo Woo boot and Rough Ryder. Danhausen then cursed Humberto to trigger the finish.
This kind of goofy filler hurts the momentum of a major weekend event. The locker room tension also highlighted contract-like divisions. It brings to mind past WWE disputes, such as when Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods left the promotion after refusing pay cuts, as WrestleTalk detailed during their free agency transition.
The Main Event Triple Threat Reaches Boiling Point
Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn Exchange Harsh Words
The final segment of the night saw Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn stand face-to-face in the ring. Zayn tried to explain his actions as guest referee last week, claiming he is the last real good guy. Rhodes was having none of it, calling Zayn's constant victim act exhausting.
"You are not a victim. You are exhausting."
Rhodes accused Zayn of being a backstage mosquito, draining his energy. He compared Zayn unfavorably to Kevin Owens, stating Owens would at least stab him in the front. Zayn shot back, telling Rhodes to keep Owens' name out of his mouth and claiming Rhodes only has the title because of him.
Oba Femi Looms Over the Title Picture
Gunther and Jey Uso quickly joined the argument, turning the promo into a physical war. Uso warned Gunther that he already beat him at WrestleMania, leading to a massive brawl. The fight took a dark turn when the lights went out and Oba Femi appeared on the apron.
In the final seconds, Uso hit a thrust kick on Rhodes, and Gunther leveled Uso with a clothesline. Zayn used the championship belt to knock out Gunther, only to eat a CrossRhodes from the champion. Rhodes stood tall to close the show, but tomorrow's Night of Champions main event is anyone's game.
