Pull Up a Barstool

Pull up a barstool and pour yourself a double of whatever cheap whiskey is on the bottom shelf. We are sitting here on June 30, 2026, and the pro wrestling industry is running on pure, unadulterated adrenaline. If you aren't currently scratching your head over the latest corporate crossover shenanigans, you might want to check your pulse.

Hendry's Pop and TNA's Drop

Let's talk about TNA Wrestling, a company that has survived more near-death experiences than a crash test dummy. They currently have their hottest star in years, Joe Hendry, running around on WWE television and pinning Austin Theory on Raw. Yet, the ratings for their own flagship show just fell off a cliff.

According to the latest Ringside News report, the June 25, 2026 episode of TNA iMPACT on AMC drew a miserable 188,000 viewers. That is a massive drop from the 255,000 viewers they pulled in the previous week. When you lose 67,000 viewers in a single week, that is not just a dip; it is a full-blown emergency.

To make matters worse, the demo rating fell to a microscopic 0.02 in the P18-49 group. That is down sixty percent from the 0.05 they managed on June 18. This is happening while their talent is getting massive pops on WWE programming.

Look at the 12-month average for TNA. They hover around 207,300 viewers, with their highest point being 259,000 back on March 12, 2026. But they also hit a rock bottom of 21,200 on April 16, 2026. The volatility is wilder than a roller coaster with no brakes.

The WWE partnership was supposed to be a shot of adrenaline for TNA. Instead, it feels like WWE is treating them like a farm system, taking their best talent for NXT and Raw while TNA's own television show remains an afterthought. It is a raw deal, no pun intended.

The Oba Femi Problem and Raw's SummerSlam Panic

Let's slide over to the flagship show, WWE Raw, which just took place on June 29, 2026, at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The big news coming out of the night is the setup for SummerSlam. King of the Ring winner Oba Femi stood in the ring to talk about his future championship plans, looking like an absolute destroyer.

Atlantic City Carnage

Then the glass shattered, or rather, the beast awoke. Brock Lesnar, flanked by Paul Heyman, marched down the aisle and immediately dropped Femi with a devastating F-5. Just like that, the young monster is sharing the ring with a part-time legend.

Femi did not back down, challenging Lesnar to a match at SummerSlam. Lesnar accepted, but only under the condition that they lock themselves inside Hell in a Cell. This is classic WWE booking: when in doubt, throw a giant cage at the problem.

Is anyone else tired of this formula? Oba Femi has been built up as the next unstoppable force in the company. Giving him a high-profile match is great, but sticking him in Hell in a Cell with Lesnar this early feels like a panic move to sell tickets.

The rest of the Raw results show a mixed bag of fallout from Night of Champions. Rey Mysterio defeated Ethan Page in a fast-paced opener. Joe Hendry got his big win over Austin Theory, which had the internet losing its collective mind.

Jimmy Uso also picked up a win against LA Knight, while Chad Gable defeated JD McDonagh in a technical showcase. We also saw Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns accept a challenge from Seth Rollins. Meanwhile, Liv Morgan attacked Queen of the Ring winner IYO SKY to keep their feud boiling.

Shotzi's Bloodbath and the Indie Wild West

While WWE and TNA are playing corporate chess, the independent scene is throwing chairs and bleeding in high school gyms. Let's start with Game Changer Wrestling, who ran their Life of Crime show on Sunday, June 28, in Mesa, Arizona. The event aired live on Triller TV+ from the historic Nile Theater.

New Orleans Birthday Beatdown

The most shocking moment of the night was the main event deathmatch. Nick Gage and SLADE teamed up to defeat Vipress and Shotzi Blackheart. Yes, you read that correctly: former WWE superstar Shotzi Blackheart is out here doing deathmatches in GCW.

She went from the polished rings of Stamford to getting hit with light tubes and barbed wire in Arizona. It is a wild career move, but you have to respect her dedication to the extreme. The match was a bloody mess, which is exactly what the GCW crowd paid to see.

Elsewhere on the card, Mr. Danger defeated Starboy Charlie, and Hollyhood Haley J picked up a win over Brooke Havok. Cowboy Way, consisting of 1 Called Manders and Thomas Shire, beat The Butcher and The Blade in a hard-hitting tag team match. Gringo Loco won a wild scramble match against Bobby Flaco, BYP, Iron Kid, Resplandor, and Vengador.

We also saw Anakin Murphy pick up a massive victory over Joey Janela. The GCW results show the Tag Team Championship match between Alec Price and Jordan Oliver (The Bustah And The Brain) and Atticus and Otis Cogar (VNDL48) ended in a no contest when Sam Stackhouse interfered. It was pure chaos from start to finish.

Meanwhile, down in New Orleans, WildKat Sports held their X-Rated X show on June 27. This served as Luke Hawx's 45th Birthday Bash at Southport Hall. In the main event, the WildKat Tag Team Champions, Slime SZN (Luke Hawx, J Spade, and Buku Dao), retained their titles.

They defeated the powerhouse team of Rhino, Brian Cage, and Mack Johnson. Brian Cage, who should be a world champion on national television, is instead working indie shows in Louisiana. It is a baffling waste of talent, but the New Orleans crowd certainly did not mind.

The show also featured Mickey Drama defeating Danny Flamingo in a match with high stakes. Because of the loss, Flamingo was forced to join The Drama Club. To add insult to injury, Mickey Drama shaved Flamingo's head and face right in the middle of the ring.

For the undercard, Zuka King defeated Purple Haze, Jace Valor, and Raza Rayleigh in a fatal 4-way opener. Tristann Marcus defeated Chuck Devine, while Brick Savage pinned Gavin Ash. Ryan Davidson defeated Suge Whyte in a Bar Room Brawl to become the number one contender for the WildKat Heavyweight Title, and Promise Braxton defeated Kalia Luv.

The Bleeding Heart of the Business

Let's wrap up our tour of the indies with Pro Wrestling Junkie's No Days Off event. They ran the Ridgefield Park Knights of Columbus in New Jersey on Sunday, June 28, live on IWTV. The venue is affectionately known as the Mecca by local fans.

Jersey Shore Dog Collars

Izzy Moreno won the PWJ Women's Championship in a four-way match, defeating Emily Jaye, Allie Katch, and Zayda Steel. Eddie Kingston also made an appearance, defeating Tracy Williams in a match that probably felt like a physical assault. Ortiz picked up a win over Jonathan Gresham in a battle of veterans.

The most bizarre match of the night was for the Sammy Guevara Vlog Championship. KJ Orso defeated Alan Angels in a dog collar match to win the title. Sammy Guevara himself was the special guest referee, adding to the absolute absurdity of the situation.

In other matches, Trial By Fire defeated Rachel Ley and Shane Rose. Miracle Generation retained their tag titles against The Mane Event. Charles Mason defeated Effy to keep his PWJ Championship, while Dr. Redacted and Emersyn Jayne beat Daron Richardson and Diamond Virago.

This brings us back to the big picture of the industry. We have these incredible athletes putting their bodies on the line in front of a few hundred people in New Jersey, while the national product is getting weirder by the day. The gap between the top and the bottom is widening.

TNA's ratings drop is a warning sign. Crossover appeal is great for social media clicks, but it does not translate to television viewers if you do not give fans a reason to tune in to your own show. TNA needs to figure out how to keep their viewers before they become a permanent footnote in WWE's history.

WWE is coasting on the star power of Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and Seth Rollins. But their reliance on these established names is preventing new stars from truly breaking through. The wrestling world is hot right now, but the foundation is starting to crack.

Whether you are watching deathmatches in Arizona or ratings crashes on AMC, one thing is certain: the business is never boring. Grab another drink, because this wild ride is far from over.
